Two players are among 13 people involved in the delayed Indian Premier League to test positive for coronavirus in the United Arab Emirates.
According to ESPN, the two players – one an India international – are among 10 cases at Chennai Super Kings, with support staff, net bowlers and a team official’s wife also testing positive.
Those to test positive are now being monitored at a different hotel and must spend at least two weeks in quarantine.
All 53 IPL games will be played in the UAE because of the global Covid-19 pandemic.
The Super Kings, who are three-time champions, arrived on 21 August and the team were scheduled to begin training in Dubai on Friday.
That session has been postponed to 1 September, with the IPL set to start on 19 September.
Meanwhile, Super Kings’ all-rounder Suresh Raina, who is the competition’s second highest run-scorer, has returned to India for personal reasons and will play no part in the tournament.
